jyotsna ramanan.

i work in a senior/lead capacity in learning analytics — somewhere between data, code, and helping people make sense of how students are learning and engaging in classrooms at the NU System.

before this, i built things end-to-end as a full-stack Software Engineer @ ReSource Pro's Innovation Lab.

i have a master's in computer science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2016), where alongside my studies i was a part-time teaching assistant for 400/800 level courses in databases, computer architecture, and computer graphics.
i was a software engineer intern @ DataBank, and before that, a student worker running data analysis for the researchers at the department of CYAF at CEHS, UNL.

what i care about the most

the non-human animals.

i am not a speciesist. i reject the idea that humans are superior to other animals, and that some animals are better than other animals. that shapes how i eat, what i support, and how i try to show up in the world.

i went vegan in 2021, and i'm still unlearning and relearning things.

what's always on my mind:

i also built a small tool for people like me, so we can spend less energy debating the debaters who bring random claims like "plants feel pain," etc., and spend more time being part of the solution:

outside of that, i run, lift, do yoga, read, volunteer with @aaasc-omaha and @common root mutual aid, and hang out with my cats, coco, nacho, and yara.
